02 / AboutIndependent contractor support

Independent senior support, scoped to the project and run by people who have delivered work.

Northpoint is a specialist contractor support consultancy based in Northern Ireland, providing independent support to small and mid-sized main contractors across the UK and Ireland.

01 — Who we support

Small and mid-sized main contractors delivering real projects.

The typical Northpoint client is a small to mid-sized main contractor delivering commercial, public sector, education, healthcare, refurbishment, or small to mid-scale new build projects. Contractors who run lean delivery teams, and who do not carry deep in-house resource across NEC process, planning, technical review, BIM, and quality reporting.

Support is scoped to the specific need. Engagements are project-specific or retained, not packaged up as a generic consulting product.

02What Northpoint does

Independent senior input across planning, project controls, technical, and quality.

Practical, written, contractor-side senior support, sitting alongside the delivery team, not competing with it.

Planning and programming

Tender and construction programmes, update reviews, sequencing observations, and project control input in Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject.

NEC process support

Operational NEC3 and NEC4 support covering early warning discipline, programme compliance, and project controls, kept non-legal and practical.

Technical review and quality reporting

Drawing and specification review, coordination comments, buildability observations, quality inspections, snagging and defect reporting.

BIM and digital support

A supporting capability covering BEP production, CDE setup, BIM workflow, and information management, applied where it genuinely strengthens delivery.

05 — Fit

How Northpoint fits alongside your team.

Northpoint sits alongside the contractor's delivery team, including project manager, site manager, quantity surveyor, and designers, providing independent senior input on planning, project controls, technical coordination, and quality. The role is external, written, and scoped to the specific need.

Where legal, quantum, or specialist design appointments are required, Northpoint supports the wider project team rather than replacing the role of the relevant consultant. That boundary is kept deliberate.

Based in Northern Ireland, supporting main contractors across the UK and Ireland.
