Independent written review of technical information and quality on site.
Three connected areas of work: technical review of drawings, specification, and coordination at tender and during delivery; quality, snagging, and defect reporting through and beyond close-out; and informed input on building fabric quality where envelope performance and airtightness matter, supported by a Certified Passivhaus Consultant qualification.

Drawing, specification, and coordination, reviewed, flagged, and written up.
Independent technical review of information supplied to the contractor, at tender and during delivery, with observations recorded so the contractor can act on them and keep a trail.
- 01Tender drawing and specification review
- 02Construction stage drawing and specification review
- 03Buildability observations
- 04Coordination review comments across disciplines
- 05Technical review reports, written for project files
- 06Independent technical observations on site-issued information
Quality inspection and written reporting, on site, at close-out, and post-completion.
Independent inspections and structured quality reports, giving the contractor a clear, evidence-based record during delivery, through handover, and on any defect review that follows.
- 01Quality inspections during delivery
- 02Snagging reports at stage gates and close-out
- 03Defect review reports post-completion
- 04Independent technical reporting on site-based quality issues
- 05Evidence-based technical review of completed work
- 06Defect analysis reports, structured for use by the contractor
- 07Close-out review input, including written notes for handover files
Written as independent technical reporting. Where dispute or adjudication support is required, Northpoint supports the wider project team rather than taking on that appointment.

Informed review of envelope detailing, airtightness, and workmanship where building fabric performance matters.
Where contractors are delivering projects with elevated thermal performance requirements, low-energy targets, or specified airtightness criteria, the technical review service includes informed input on the building fabric. The work sits inside the same independent review and quality reporting framework as the rest of the service, supported by Chris McIvor's Certified Passivhaus Consultant qualification.
The intent is practical contractor support, not Passivhaus design consultancy: clear written observations on detailing and workmanship where the envelope drives performance.
- 01Technical review of envelope detailing, including insulation continuity and thermal bridge risk
- 02Review of airtightness strategy on drawings, with observations on buildability at junctions
- 03On-site review of workmanship affecting thermal performance: tape laps, membrane continuity, insulation gaps
- 04Coordination review of envelope, structure, and services where penetrations risk compromising fabric performance
- 05Independent quality input on fabric-related defects and remedial work
- 06Written observations on envelope quality during delivery and at close-out
Provided as part of independent technical review and quality reporting. Northpoint does not take on Passivhaus certification appointments or low-energy design lead roles.
What the contractor ends up with.
- 01Written technical review reports, aligned to drawings and specification
- 02Coordination review comments across architectural, structural, and MEP information
- 03Snagging inspection reports tied to specific dates and areas
- 04Defect review reports with observations the contractor can action
- 05Envelope and fabric quality observations where building performance is in scope
- 06Close-out review notes that support handover
Get an independent set of eyes across drawings, specs, and quality.
Reviews and inspections are written, structured, and handed back ready for use on the project.
